This is an in person, one day hands on crash course that can specifically address any or all of the following topics for you or you and one guest:

• making and inoculating agar petri dishes

• making and inculating grain spawn

• making and inoculating fruiting substrate

• sterile lab procedures

• cloning wild mushrooms

• fruiting room basics

This is a one on one chance to hang out at the farm and learn what you’d like to learn about how we grow mushrooms. Limited to one or two people due to the small space of our facility.

This is a hands on three day course that will cover all of the following topics:

The DO You Really Want to be a Farmer Course is designed for one or two people who are pretty certain that they want to be a farmer and like me, learn best with hands on repetition. Mushroom farming sounds romantic but can be messy, tiring, hard work. But if you’ve been bit by the bug, you’ve been bit by the bug.

In this “Course” you’ll go through all of the motions that I go through on a weekly basis. There will be all the time in the world for questions and also enough wiggle room to focus on what you really want to understand.

Lodging is also available on the farm if needed. You’ll have your own cabin with a killer deck to sit out on and listen to the birds.
